Derpchan goes to Desucon 2012 – Report!

Cuddly moral support team. Many people asked where I’d gotten these guys from, and the answer is “Japan”.

I’m still recovering from my trip to Desucon 2012 which was held June 8-10 in Lahti, Finland. I don’t think I’d be so tired if I didn’t have to travel there from practically the other end of the country, 12 hours on the train wears me out even if it’s a night train and I can sleep. Anyways, a quick con report before I forget everything.

This was my 3rd time going to Desucon. My loyal side-kick for the weekend was Mineko who also took most of the photos because I had my hands full carrying around my moral support team (Kotetsu & Bunny plush dolls) on Saturday. I cosplayed on Friday and Sunday, Mineko spent the entire weekend getting into trouble as Scarf-tan.

To everyone who wondered where the plushie heroes were from: I ordered them from Japan, you couldn’t find these guys at the dealers’ room although there was some Tiger & Bunny stuff this time. Continue reading

For Fun: Pre-order Bingo

Today’s pre-order war over G.E.M. Kotetsu inspired me to make this bingo chart. (I doubt anyone has time to play bingo while smashing F5, tho.) This is a v2 of the bingo chart because I realized I’d left out a rather important one.

Well, you know the drill. Re-arrange to your liking or add some objectives of your own for future wars!

Videos of Morita Masakazu at Sakuracon 2012

Last weekend was Sakuracon in Seattle, and Morita Masakazu was a guest of honor there. We got an email from Joan, one of our readers who went there. Here’s what she wrote.

I’ve been an avid follower of your site ever since the beginning and a big fan of Tiger and Bunny, so when I found out that Morita was going to be at Sakuracon, I was super stoked.

I managed to take quite a few video files, and would like to share them with you guys and the rest of the Tiger and Bunny fans.  I’m still slowly uploading videos at youtube, as they’re quite large HD files, but I figured I should link you guys to the part that pertains specifically to T&B.

(I actually asked him the question!)

I hope you enjoy!  The rest of the videos will be uploaded to my channel by this week.

Regards,
Joan

Thank you, and again thank you for sharing these videos!

Joan’s question was about ‘an interesting story during the recording process of Tiger and Bunny’ and Morita seems like he could keep talking about it forever. Here are the videos:

Our Favourite T&B Things

Thank you, and again thank you to all who took part in our little celebration for a year of Tiger & Bunny! We didn’t get as many princess carries as we expected, but Figuarts are really popular judging from the photos.

I think that Tiger & Bunny will always remain a special thing for us. After it ended, we noticed that it had changed the way we view anime. We’ve also met a lot of great people through the fandom, from all over the world. The community that has developed around the series is wonderful, and you rarely see such dedication to support a series – I am of course talking about our shared desire to own everything that the merchandise producers put out.

Thank you, everyone, for sticking with us up to this point! Here’s to the next year – and hopefully many more after it – with Tiger & Bunny and all our T&Bros! Good luck with the preorders tomorrow, and with those that are still looming in the horizon!

Getting E-mail Is Nice

I was this close to doing a spit-take at my screen this morning when I was checking our email and found this thing that Team Kaburagi sent us. (Aki on the other hand got a warning from me first, she’s thankful for that.) This suggestion for a new fried rice poster is just too glorious to not share.

Team Kaburagi wrote:
there – fixed it for you (bc crack image is… well)

Happy Year of the Dragon Kid, everyone ~!

(Just so happens I got the PASH! with the actual fried rice poster today. Nice timing!)
